All Shirts Have Been Mailed… But…

December 5, 2012 in BLIP, Community

It seems a couple of you who have ordered shirts still haven’t received one. This may be because your order may have been lost when we digitized the list of orders. When we made the order of t-shirts, yours may not have been included. If you still have not recieved a t-shirt, please email me at bronyfanfair@gmail.com so we can come up with a solution. I apologize for this misstep.

Thanks!

T-Shirts Update

October 27, 2012 in Community, News

We finally received the t-shirts earlier this week and will be shipping them out this week.

We apologize for the wait. To show our sincerity, we will be offering a FREE  5″x7″ print(photo) of new artwork of our mascot, Rising Star. We made this decision to offer these prints after we sealed the packages and will not charge for shipping these prints. This print will also be exclusive to those who are waiting for shirts. Here’s how it’ll work:
  • YOU e-mail us at bronyfanfair@gmail.com with the subject header “RS PRINT” with your full name.
  • WE will cross reference the name with our master list of delayed t-shirt and use the same shipping address to send you this print. This print will not be visible online until 2013.

We promise that the shirts are worth the wait and hope that this delay will not deter you from attending Brony Fan Fair 2013.

Sincerely,
Peter C. Jiang

BFF Gaming for Charity on October 20th

October 11, 2012 in Community, News

TO DONATE, CLICK HERE

On the weekend of September 8-9th, I was shown what could happen when 900 people gathered in one location in the interest of having fun, making friends, and celebrating ponies. That spectacle that everyone at Brony Fan Fair took part in has led me to believe that we, Brony Fan Fair and our fans, can help others through a charitable event such as Extra Life. With that in mind, I created the Brony Fan Fair & Friends team to participate in this year’s Extra Life event.

So what’s in it for you, other then the satisfaction of helping a children’s hospital do what they do best? Well! I’m offering some BFF swag for team members who raise funds and participate on our team!

Furthermore, I’ll be hosting a livestream on justin.tv on my video gaming activities; team members who will be gaming with me on the PC will also have the opportunity to join me on these livestreams!

So how does this work? The following is further information from the Extra Life event:

Each of our team members has chosen our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.

On Oct. 20th, 2012, we’ll attempt to play an epic 24 hour video game marathon and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to that team member’s chosen hospital.

Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.

Last year, Extra Life raised more than 1.2 million dollars to save kids, but in 2012 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher.

We can’t do this without your help. Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click a participant’s name and then click the “Support This Participant” button on this page.

Join our team and play video games, but don’t forget that you’re responsible for raising your funds to contribute to the team! I’m even throwing in our own rewards for the money you raise!

THE REWARDS:
The first FIVE team members to raise $25 will receive an exclusive Brony Fan Fair 5×7″ print of our mascot, Rising Star, in her Grand Galloping Gala attire.

The first team member to raise $100 (ONE HUNDRED) will receive a special 11×17″ Brony Fan Fair poster of unique never-seen-before artwork of Rising Star, autographed by the artist and yours truly.

Note: I personally am excluded from the prizes.

Follow us at http://justin.tv/bronyfanfair to watch the 24-hr livestream on October 20th, 2012 starting at 8am.

LIVESTREAM SCHEDULE:
8am-11am: League of Legends
11am-2pm: Borderlands
2pm-5pm: Team Fortress 2
5pm-9pm: AUDIENCE CHOICE*
9pm-12am: Left 4 Dead 2
12am-3am: Minecraft
3am-6am: Borderlands
6am-8am: League of Legends

*A poll will be given each hour and I will play completely based on our Livestream audience’s choice. How long I play each game depends on how much I’m enjoying the game and how much fun the livestream audience is having. This format may change on the day of the livestream.

Let’s show the world what us Texan Bronies can do to help these kids. Even the smallest contribution of $1 will help.

Sincerely,
Peter C. Jiang
Brony Fan Fair Chairman

Concerning T-Shirts

October 1, 2012 in Community, News

As our 2012 attendees may already know, we sold out of t-shirts at BFF2012 and took orders on site in the color and size of your choice. Although we wanted to get the shirts to you as soon as possible, we were unable to get our shirts printed and shipped immediately after the convention due to scheduling conflicts with our printer.

To keep you posted, the shirts 2012 attendees have ordered will be printed this week and should all hopefully be shipped by next week. I sincerely apologize if our delay has caused any anxiety. If you have any further concerns about t-shirts, feel free to email bronyfanfair@gmail.com. Look forward to it and thank you so much for your patience!

Sincerely,
Peter C. Jiang

BFF2012 Wrapped Up

September 16, 2012 in News, Staff Blog

Brony Fan Fair Chairman Peter C. Jiang glances at the community mural that’s now mounted in his family’s home.

From the beginning of Brony Fan Fair’s conception, it has been our goal to provide an environment where bronies can celebrate their love of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic without fear of judgment on that alone. This show, which has shown us the importance of friendship and inter-connectivity, has brought together an amazing community with its own art, music, and culture to the internet; Brony Fan Fair was an opportunity for our internet culture to a singular physical place in reality. As many of our attendees have found, it was a sight to behold.

On September 8-9th at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, more then 900 of you came out to our small convention in Austin; many of you who have traveled so far from your homes came to Brony Fan Fair expecting a great time found just that. From the feedback we received from our fans, our convention, the “Little Con that Could,” was one that our attendees will remember. A memory to cherish.

Our first year has gone by so fast, but BFF2013 is on the way. We’re taking into account the criticisms we’ve received this year in order to plan for a bigger & better Brony Fan Fair next year. Although I have received many thanks for organizing this event, this convention has always been and always will be about you, the attendee. No matter how much money we sink into the convention, none of it would’ve been a success if it weren’t for you coming out and having a good time. So thank you, attendees, for making this first year a success.

Keep an eye on our website as we have some plans for our community in the off season and don’t forget to check out our supporters at IKKiCON, the largest anime convention in Austin, Texas.

Sincerely,
Peter C. Jiang
Your humble and faithful Chairman

As a post script, I want to apologize to Gentlecolt Collaborations for the breakdown in communications. Their absence at the Love is Magic panel was due to a negligence on our part and it cost our attendees an opportunity to see what Gentlecolt had in store for them. To make up for this, I have promised them a panel at BFF2013 to show off their game and I hope you’ll come out to see them.

August 30, 2012 in BLIP, Registration

We have over 300 pre-registrations for Brony Fan Fair! We can’t wait to see you all!

A couple of emails have been sent to me asking if people can still register at the door and the answer is yes! You can register at the door beginning Friday evening for both days of the convention for $25. Please note that we will begin to sell these passes on the morning of Saturday, September 8. However, pre-registrants will have the opportunity to pick up their badges on Friday night. We will sell on site registrations at the door starting on Friday so everyone will have a chance to participate in our Friday night social.

Despite having over 300 pre-registrations, we still do not know how many attendees will come to Brony Fan Fair. We know there are many of you who are excited about coming to our convention so we do not currently plan on turning anybody away.
