On the weekend of September 8-9th, I was shown what could happen when 900 people gathered in one location in the interest of having fun, making friends, and celebrating ponies. That spectacle that everyone at Brony Fan Fair took part in has led me to believe that we, Brony Fan Fair and our fans, can help others through a charitable event such as Extra Life. With that in mind, I created the Brony Fan Fair & Friends team to participate in this year’s Extra Life event.
So what’s in it for you, other then the satisfaction of helping a children’s hospital do what they do best? Well! I’m offering some BFF swag for team members who raise funds and participate on our team!
Furthermore, I’ll be hosting a livestream on justin.tv on my video gaming activities; team members who will be gaming with me on the PC will also have the opportunity to join me on these livestreams!
So how does this work? The following is further information from the Extra Life event:
Each of our team members has chosen our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On Oct. 20th, 2012, we’ll attempt to play an epic 24 hour video game marathon and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to that team member’s chosen hospital.
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
Last year, Extra Life raised more than 1.2 million dollars to save kids, but in 2012 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher.

Join our team and play video games, but don’t forget that you’re responsible for raising your funds to contribute to the team! I’m even throwing in our own rewards for the money you raise!
THE REWARDS:
The first FIVE team members to raise $25 will receive an exclusive Brony Fan Fair 5×7″ print of our mascot, Rising Star, in her Grand Galloping Gala attire.
The first team member to raise $100 (ONE HUNDRED) will receive a special 11×17″ Brony Fan Fair poster of unique never-seen-before artwork of Rising Star, autographed by the artist and yours truly.

As our 2012 attendees may already know, we sold out of t-shirts at BFF2012 and took orders on site in the color and size of your choice. Although we wanted to get the shirts to you as soon as possible, we were unable to get our shirts printed and shipped immediately after the convention due to scheduling conflicts with our printer.
To keep you posted, the shirts 2012 attendees have ordered will be printed this week and should all hopefully be shipped by next week. I sincerely apologize if our delay has caused any anxiety. Brony Fan Fair Mascot Named!
A few weeks back, we asked people in the Brony community, “What should we name our mascot?” We were looking for a great name that best described her personality and aspirations, as well as lend support to Brony Fan Fair’s vision of promoting a pro-Brony environment at our convention.

Panel Submission Now Open!
We are now taking panel submissions for Brony Fan Fair 2012. Do you want to run your own panel to celebrate the background ponies of My Little Pony? How about a game with My Little Pony as a theme? Submit any kind of panel you want and it doesn’t even have to be related to My Little Pony! Heck, we’ll even take panel submissions with Pokemon as a topic! Submit a panel for Brony Fan Fair now!
Panel Submission will be open until August 3rd, 2012, Midnight CST.

Brony Fan Fair and AnimeFunTV are proud to officially announce the first My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Music Video Contest! This will be the first contest of its kind in the state of Texas and will be the first to be hosted by AnimeFunTV. Check them out at www.AnimeFunTV.com!
There will be four categories: Rainbow Dash (Action), Rarity (Drama), Pinkie Pie (Comedy), and User Created. Videos submitted will be judged by a panel of AnimeFunTV and Brony Fan Fair staff members!
PMV Submissions deadline is Friday, August 31, 2012 @ Midnight, U.S. Central Time.

We need your help to name our mascot pony! Send us suggestions on what her name should be in this Facebook thread and on June 9th, we’ll select the name we feel best fits our mascot. You can also ask any questions in the same thread about her and we’ll do our best to answer.
To help you out, here’s a little bit about her.
“Using the bonds I have with my friends, I will grab onto space with our hooves!”
Every night from her observatory, this Earth pony sets down a plate of assorted donuts with a glass of milk and takes out her looking glass to observes the stars. With a donut in one hoof and her telescope in the other, she could tell you with food in her mouth how many stars are in Orion’s constellation, exactly how many moons Jupiter has, and how long it takes for light to travel from the sun to the earth. Despite any judgment she might receive from any other pony, she will tell you that the stars are calling out to her.

We had fun at Comicpalooza 2012 in Houston, Texas this past weekend and made many new friends! We even made friends with the Houston Bronies, who hosted not just one panel, but a whopping total of EIGHT My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic panels! They even let BFF Director Peter C. Jiang sit in and speak on “What Exactly is a Brony?” to inquisitive Comicpalooza attendees. But now that the fun that weekend is over, where to next?
Our next convention will be Project A-Kon this weekend, June 1st-3rd, 2012 in Dallas, Texas! To celebrate our appearance at the largest anime convention in the state of Texas, we’re launching a contest at A-Kon for a chance to win a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic toy of the winner’s choice from $15 to $20 retail value! If there was any doubt in your mind that Brony Fan Fair wasn’t going to happen, fret no more. We are pleased to announce our location and dates for 2012! Brony Fan Fair 2012 will celebrate My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for its first year in Austin, Texas at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown on September 8-9th, 2012. The Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, minutes away from the State Capitol and the University of Texas at Austin, is located in central Austin near Highland Mall and the Greyhound station. Wait, back up. Did we just announce TWO DAYS for our convention?
Yes. Yes we did. Brony Fan Fair is now a two-day My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan convention to take place at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown in Austin, Texas on September 8-9, 2012. Tell your parents, tell your friends, tell everypony you know to come see your B.F.F.!
